Wonnie Short

A longtime resident of Nashville, Wonnie Short has spent 30-plus years as a financial advisor in this Tennessee city. With experience working for large financial institutions including A.G. Edwards & Sons, J.C. Bradford, and Commerce Union Bank, Wonnie Short was recognized by Barron’s magazine as one of the top thousand brokers in America.

In addition to his career in the financial sector, Mr. Short loves good food and co-owns Le Peep, an upscale restaurant franchise in Belle Meade, Tennessee. Prior to the restaurant’s opening, he headed up the construction portion of the store and continues to oversee updates. Working with architects, Mr. Short strives to maintain the warm family ambiance of the venue while keeping it relevant.

Invested in his Nashville community, Wonnie Short spent several years volunteering his time to Nashville Cares, which is dedicated to assisting those affected by HIV/AIDS. He served as treasurer for this local nonprofit, and in 2008, he co-chaired “Artrageous,” a gala event consisting of an extensive art tour as well as an after-party for participants. The event raised a record $200,000 for the organization.
